Edge Of Nowhere

Postby Victor-_-1992 » Sun Sep 18, 2011 7:29 pm

Since we don't know the lyrics of this songs, Fran and I have tried to transcribe Edge Of Nowhere lyrics, and this is what we have understood. Hope someone can fill the blanks and correct any part which could be wrong.

Extremely bored at neon light, (not sure at all on this line)
before they crossed this road tonight,
I'm just another stranger passing through,
in every house the light is warm,
in every home no bed for me,
this empty road to give me company.

I'm here on the edge of nowhere,
is covered in the arms of darkness.
Tell me where is home,
I can see it out there somewhere,
tell me where is home,
I need to find my way,
help me to find my way.

Torch starts to look the same,
the waitress’ way,
the beacon’s smile is (…)
on my coffee cup,
She dreamed the (…) that could’ve been,
retracing footprints by the sea,
the promise more than it could ever be.

I'm here on the edge of nowhere
is covered in the arms of darkness.
Tell me where is home,
I can see it out there somewhere,
tell me where is home,
I need to find my way,
help me to find my way.

Tell me where is home,
I can see it out there somewhere,
tell me where is home,
I need to find my way,
help me to find my way,
I need to find my way home.

I keep hearing 'discovering the arms of darkness', though it makes less sense lol

Victor-_-1992 wrote:Torch starts to look the same,

Think this should be "Truck stops start to look the same".

Victor-_-1992 wrote:the waitress’ way,

The waitress wear their vacant smile is.....?

Victor-_-1992 wrote:She dreamed the (…) that could’ve been,

"She dreamed of all that could have been".

Quite hard to make the words out at certain points....lol
Hope Sharon will help us out soon?

Great job with the lyrics!

Gosh I love this song so much. Sharon's voice is sounding great too.

Victor, you did a fantastic job w/the lyrics. I agree w/Mathias' suggestions.

I only have a few myself:
"Out here on the edge of nowhere" instead of "I'm here..."

And this verse is just easier to reprint entirely:

"Truck stops start to look the same,
The waitress wears a vacant smile,
is topping up my coffee cup,
She dreams of all that could’ve been,
retracing footprints by the sea,
that promise more than it could ever be."

So, we'd have here:

Streaming water, neon light,
before they crossed this road tonight,
I'm just another stranger passing through,
in every house the light is warm,
in every home no bed for me,
this empty road can keep me company.

Out here on the edge of nowhere,
discovering the arms of darkness.
Tell me where is home,
I can see it out there somewhere,
tell me where is home,
I need to find my way,
help me to find my way.

Truck stops start to look the same,
The waitress wears a vacant smile,
is topping up my coffee cup,
She dreams of all that could’ve been,
retracing footprints by the sea,
that promise more than it could ever be.

I'm here on the edge of nowhere
is covered in the arms of darkness.
Tell me where is home,
I can see it out there somewhere,
tell me where is home,
I need to find my way,
help me to find my way.

Tell me where is home,
I can see it out there somewhere,
tell me where is home,
I need to find my way,
help me to find my way,
I need to find my way home.

So...it semms we have the whole lyrics, just need Sharon to confirm  .
Thanks guys.

Looks good! The only thing is I still hear "Out here on the edge of nowhere" & "Discovering the arms of darkness" for verse 4 too. Maybe it's just me though. :)
